“Emotional distance is how emotionally connected we feel to a subject. This emotional distance translates to actual distance on screen.”
“Shooting coverage is not something that can be learned just from reading a book, nor is it something that can be mastered after one day on set.”
Throughout this book, I have found that in every chapter there is always a couple paragraphs about emotional connection. Every shot you take should be intended to connect to the audience in some way. I also enjoyed learning about the “cowboy shot”. The cowboy shot is a split difference between a full body shot and a medium close up shot. America established its own camera shot to feature a cowboy’s guns.
