Haleigh_Chapter2

In this chapter, we were able to learn about basic story lines in films. I found it interesting how the understanding we have of protagonists and antagonists isn't always true. Sometimes the protagonist is not the good guy, and sometimes the antagonist isn't the bad guy. The real role of the protagonist is just the main character, while the antagonist is just the opposition of he protagonist. So if the protagonist is a bad guy, the antagonist(s) would be the good guy(s). I also think the six steps of the basic story structure were helpful. I don't think I realized how many steps go into making a film/ script. I am hoping I will be able to use these six steps in the future.

This video explains the basic story structure, but instead of six steps, it talks about the three acts and how they move. I think it gives a good audio explanation of how the basic story structure goes.
