Connor_Chapter4

This weeks chapter was utterly fascinating to read and I was completely engrossed in the descriptions of various lenses, lighting, and angles. One portion in particular that stuck with me was early in the chapter when the author discussed how important it is for filmmakers to be working with all aspects of camera use that cinematographers do. In my opinion, it would not only help with directing, but also gives another positive and fresh ingredient to a film.

"Directors working with cinematographers is essential because it aligns visual storytelling with the director's overarching vision, ensuring a cohesive and impactful film by translating emotions and narratives into a specific aesthetic through camera work, lighting, and shot selection. This collaboration ensures that the film's visual language—including mood, atmosphere, and framing—effectively enhances the story and creates a seamless, immersive experience for the audience."
